RECENT WORK - Updated 10 January 2002
- Rebuild (clean, polish & lubricate) or replace thru-hulls seacocks, strainers
- Remove backer blocks
- Clean and treat each thru-hull hole with Smith's penetrating epoxy
- Fair around each thru-hull with West System Epoxy
- Treat new backer blocks with two coats of Smiths and one coat of West System
- Install new backer blocks
- Re-install thru-hulls, seacocks & strainers
- Replace four sink drains and hoses (Shields 148)
- Replace leaking faucet washers
- Remove and plug bubbler system screw eyes at water line
- Replace thru-hulls and seacocks
- Pressure wash & scrape bottom
- Refasten with silicon bronze screws planks from stem to 5th frame, keel to 5 planks above waterline per surveyor's
instructions
- Install bronze plates at stem water line per surveyor's instructions
- 2-1/2 coats Woolsey Bottom Paint
- Repaint boot stripe with Zspar alkyd marine enamel
- Fair and repaint area of refastening with 3M Marine fairing compound and Zspar marine primer and enamel
- Remove faulty plug repairs from former swim step at transom
- Repair transom planks with Smiths and West System
- Fair transom with 3M Marine fairing compound
- 2 Coats of Zspar sanding primer on transom
- 3 Coats of Zspar enamel on transom
- Clean and scrub bilge in Aft Stateroom
- Remove glassed over/rot damaged dorades on Pilot House
- Remove glassed over radar mount on Pilot House
- Remove signal mast
- Remove Air horns
- Remove VHF antenna
- Repair/extend fiberglass/gel coat under dorades and radar mount
- Rebuild dorades with Honduran mahogany - replace cowls and mounts with stainless steel
- Strip fiberglass from radar mount, cut weeps
- 7 coats of boiled linseed/tung oil/japan drier and 7 coats of Epiphanes varnish on dorades and radar mount
- Re-install dorades and radar mount from below
- Remove, repair, paint and re-install radome
- Install 16 ga. marine wiring for navigation lights (for 32 or 12 volts)
- Rebuild, paint (5 coats) and rewire signal mast for regulation bow light and anchor light
- Remount signal mast on appropriate hinged fitting
- Miscellaneous repairs to gel coat on Pilot House roof
- Re-install VHF antenna
- Paint and remount air horns
- Repair rotted areas underside of Pilot House roof with Bora-Care/Smiths/West System
- Scrape, sand, fair with exterior spackle, and 2 coats of primer aft 3/4 of underside of Pilot House roof
- Remove obsolete wiring in Pilot House and Engine Room
- Repair pin leaks in fresh water plumbing
- Remove obsolete 110VAC wiring from Forward & Mid Staterooms, Forward Head, Galley and Saloon
- Install 14 ga. marine 110VAC wiring and outlets in Forward & Mid Staterooms, Forward Head, Galley and Saloon
per ABYC (see wiring plan)
- Remove obsolete 32VDC lighting wiring and electrical devices in Forward Stateroom, Forward Head, Galley and Saloon
- Install 14 ga. marine 32VDC wiring and switches in Forward Stateroom, Forward Head, Galley and Saloon (adequate
for 12VDC use)
- Strip, refinish, rebuild and re-install period light fixtures in Forward Head, Galley and Saloon
- Remove, scrape, paint bunk slats in Forward Stateroom and rebuild as removable unit
- Repaint inside lockers under Forward Bunk
- Install new 35 gallon holding tank under Forward Bunk
- Install mount for new electric head in Forward Head
- Clean shower sumps in Forward and Aft Heads
- Remove CNG (stove) fuel tank from Galley
- Install CNG tank in forward deck locker with electric valve
- Scrub stove
- Install coated steel electrical enclosures for circuit breaker panels in Pilot House
- Install PVC ducts from electrical enclosures to Engine Room
- Punch enclosure panels for new circuit breakers and meters
- Remove batteries from Engine Room
- Remove leaking battery trays
- Remove deck plates under batteries
- Clean and neutralize leakage from batteries
- Cover battery trays with temporary liners
- Replace Batteries
- Repair flaws in fiberglass over decks with epoxy
- Remove and clean with solvent transmission hydraulic pumps, regulators and filters
- Install 110VAC, 32VDC, 12VDC wiring in Pilot House and Engine Room
- Install New Circuit Breaker Panels for 110VAC and 32/12VDC
- Reconstruct "Brow" of Pilothouse Hardtop
- Prepare structure for replacement of Pilothouse Windshield
- Paint Pilothouse Hardtop with one of two coats of Epoxy paint
- Repair Sheer Planks PT & STBD Midships (with Boracare, Smith's, West System), repaint
- Repair (with Boracare, Smith's, West System) sand to wood, and refinish wood rails midship and aft with
7 coats boiled Linseed Oil/Tung Oil/Japan Dryer, 4 of 6 coats "Bristol Finish"
- Remove Bronze stanchions PT FWD, remove paint and clean
- Repair Sheer Plank PT FWD, repaint
- Remove chrome fittings and trim from bulwarks and polish
- Repair and refinish PT FWD wood rails and bulwarks as above
- Replace PT FWD stanchions with new silicon bronze fasteners
- Install new PT FWD lifeline covers
- Remove and pressure test STBD engine oil cooler, replace with proper gaskets
- Install new stainless phone, TV inlet
- Repair, repaint aft cabin hatch cover
- Remove aft Pilot House bulkhead windows
- Repair, sand to wood, refinish aft Pilot House bulkhead
- Seal window channels with West System
- Install new window tracks, clear weeps
- Replace windows
- Clean and repaint locker outside Engine Room
- Install 12 VDC Fuse, Main Disconnect, Battery in Box, Charger and Inverter in locker
- Rewire aft shower sump pump
- Install new wiring AFT STBD (12,32,110)
- Replace wiring Aft Companionway 3-way lighting circuit
- Repaint and rig anchor davit
- Repaint anchors
- Install PT city water inlet and shut off valve
- Disconnect Aft hot water heater for removal
- Correct plumbing for Fresh Water Pump
- Repair Sheer Plank STBD FWD, repaint
- Remove chrome fittings and trim from bulwarks and polish
- Repair and refinish STBD FWD wood rails and bulwarks as above
